The firm

Ivo Brandner

Ivo Brandner works on cases where a fund, platform or counterparty has stopped paying out on a private investment. He reviews the paperwork investors already have, identifies what is missing, and maps the file against the mechanism the refusal actually follows, whether that is a subscription agreement, a custody arrangement, or a cross-border enforcement question.

How the work looks

Most files arrive after a payment has already been missed and the investor has been approached by someone offering to recover the money for a fee. The first task is not persuasion. It is reading the fund documents, the correspondence with the manager or platform, and any prior demand letters, to establish what kind of refusal this is and what has and has not been tried.

From there the file is matched to the applicable procedural route. That can mean flagging where jurisdiction is contested, where a limitation period may be running, or where an insolvency process changes what a claim is worth pursuing. The output is a working assessment of the position, coordinated where needed with the firm's services for taking a matter forward, not a prediction of how it ends.
