Forty jurisdictions in three circles

This page collects the jurisdictions where private investment disputes recur most often: onshore financial centres, offshore structures, and the countries where the underlying assets or counterparties are typically located. Each linked page sets out what is established for that jurisdiction and what is not. Numerical outcome measures are not part of this collection.

The three circles are not ranked by ease of recovery. They reflect where the money, the counterparty, and the paperwork tend to sit, which are often three different places.

The competent authority for a given refusal is determined by the applicable procedural rules, not by where the investor happens to reside. Anyone assessing which jurisdiction actually governs a specific dispute should treat the individual pages as a starting map, not a conclusion. Where a limitation period, court fee, or interim measure question is relevant to a particular file, that is confirmed against the file itself, not assumed from the jurisdiction's general profile.

A paid initial assessment reviews the contract, the correspondence with the counterparty, and the jurisdiction actually in play, before anything is sent to anyone. That is where jurisdiction selection and procedural timing are checked against the facts of the file rather than against a general page.
